Rice
I discovered last night that I eat rather more rice than the other people here.
My first week here, I bought a 10kg bag of rice, which lasted me the first two months. I then bought a 5kg bag which, predictably, lasted me about a month. I'm now nearly done with a second 10kg bag of rice. Fortunately, Bethany didn't manage to go through half of her 5kg bag she bought, and I have that as well.
Once I finish this bag, I will have cooked 55 pounds of dry rice in my rice cooker.

55 pounds of dry rice! I am impressed. I know you eat it plain or with just a bit of seasoning sometime but besides the PBJ rice, what other creative things have you done with rice?
Um, eat a lot of it?
Well, that is a good thing, since apparently you've cooked a lot of it. Heheh.
I just wondered if you had any other unique and/or tasty stuff you've made with it.
I wish to know this as well. I'm thinking I need to start eating a whole lot more rice, because it is cheap and my bills are about to double.
What are your secret rice recipes?
My secret rice recipe is this...
use a rice cooker
More rice than the people here? You mean the Japanese? Thats a lot of rice.
It is indeed a lot of rice.
My "use a rice cooker" comment might seem overly snarky, but that's really what I do for rice, usually. Sometimes I do stuff with it, but I very often simply eat plain white rice. I ate two bowls of it this morning as breakfast.
Just white rice in a bowl, nothing else at all.
Though I put pepper and stuff on it very often, I find rice to be a very soothing kind of food.
Amazingly (well, not so amazingly since you already know we eat lots of rice here, too) we are having much rice for dinner again tonight, though we are serving it with veggie/meat tasty stuff on top. This is one of my favorite things to do with it.
Rats...I meant to say we eat tasty plain rice plenty, also.
Editing our own comments after hitting post comment is on my wish list of things that would be nice. I dunno if you are interested in that feature or if it is even possible.
:)
Not even vaguely possible with the way it's set up now. All of these pages are completely static, and are re-uploaded by Blogger every time there's a change.
I was originally planning on coding my own blogging software or implementing WordPress, but my web server's database setup is just silly. So, I went this route instead.
Because of that, I can't change anything on the backend, except for a couple of random, largely meaningless options. It's frustrating, but it also requires no work on my part and is "good enough".
Certainly it is a very fine blog you have here!
It is more than good enough!
Anyway, it was just something I had thought about a couple of times, so thought I'd mention it just in case, but it really isn't a big deal.
Thanks for sharing your awesome pictures and blog with us!
