Short, but finally a picture

Went to club, wandered off, and got overconfident in my ability to find my way home. Took me an hour and a half, but I (as you can see) managed it decently.
To demonstrate the extent to which I was lost, here's a picture of a fountain I found that neither Sandy nor Aaron had seen before.

Disgustingly enough, this picture is from my phone. You will note that the biggest problem with this picture is a little CA on the zoo's roof.

Nice fountain, nice camera phone apparently, and yay for getting back home!

Anything else interesting in your wanderings?

Why is that disgusting for coming from your phone? And what is CA?

They were accidental wanderings and I was in a hurry to meet up with some friends for ramen. They wait almost half an hour for me, which I appreciate. So no, not much else. I found some yummy mango ice cream, but a bus tried to run me over, and it fell off my cone when I dodged the bus.
Sadness.

It's not really disgusting, but I used it to show that I feel that phones' cameras have come a long way.
Still, one of my friends was using his and thought it would be taking really nice pictures. He was comparing pictures from his phone's camera next to pictures from my D80. I warned him they wouldn't come out well, but he never listened until I figure out how to get the pictures off his phone. "They look fine on my phone!" he said.
Phone cameras do fine in bright light, because they don't have to increase their sensitivity (and thus, noise) to massive levels, and they can use decent exposure lengths, instead of trying to gather light for a whole second or something like that.

CA stands for cromatic aberration and refers to the fringes of blue or red in a picture. It has to do with the lens not being constructed properly and various wavelengths of light going different places because they refract slightly differently.
You usually see stuff like that only in the corners, unless your camera is really cheap - or part of a phone.

Ah, so much bummer about the mango ice cream! Glad you weren't run over by a bus, though!!! But I hope you get to have more of the mango ice cream! That sounds truly tasty!
