Supiido

A couple of us in my apartment complex are looking at getting one connection and sharing it. This may sound like a bad idea for five or six college students, given college students' usage habits, but I'd like to point out that $50/month gets us a 100Mbit/s connection. It takes a lot of work to use up the 10Mbit/s one we have at home, and with five of us, this is twice as much. I have to assume that's just downstream, and that I can't upload at that speed.

Sounds like a good plan! I hope it works well for you. 100 MB! YAY!

Actually, I think Japan's lines are more symmetrical, especially since that'll probably be fiber.

Apparently LocalTel here in East Wenatchee has 100Mb/s links (for Douglas County) too (with download limits, sadly...the lowest of them seems to be 15GB).

15GB a month, that is.

You can pay ~5$/month extra to get bumps of 5-10GB a piece.

From what little literature I've read - and said literature being in Japanese - it's "VDSL" in combination with Yahoo! Broadband, which is apparently its own technology? Or something? It doesn't make much sense, as the flyers don't contain much technical information. I haven't seen any mention of download limits at all, though.
